Hey, there! All good? We hope so. Well, it’s official now. This week we celebrate the high point of the European summer with natural light until late and lots of partying in Berlin. Have you had a nice time at the lake already? Did you enjoy the open air cinema?

Let’s really get into it! And to make this week even more enjoyable, we want to remind you that this Saturday 24.06 we have Festa Junina! Are you ready?

Seizing the opportunity, we bring you here the Special Session Arraiá da Bossa. In this session, we share with you the result of the careful curatorial work that compiles, both artistically and gastronomically, the best of Brazil in Berlin.

This is one of the purposes that BOSSA FM proudly brings to the events, especially for producing, thus, a platform of mutual support within the Brazilian community.

You are in this with us. And that’s really cool!

Here below, you will find out a few more things about the food and music selection for this Saturday’s Festa Junina. Get along!

Special Session Arraiá da Bossa:
hearty gastronomy

Hearty food makes a happy soul

Good food always touches our hearts. Knowing this, the gastronomy is always organized with great care and dedication - and today it is a major highlight at Bossa’s events. After all, today we offer the most authentic Brazilian food market in Berlin, always with options for various preferences and restrictions.

At the Festa Junina this Saturday, for example, there will be 50 different types of Brazilian food, spread over 7 stands operated by our community partners, who we are very happy to be able to count on.

Besides the typical June food, many other delights will literally bring a special taste to the party. Among them: pastel, sugar cane broth, feijoada, picanha, tropeiro beans, coxinha, cakes, sweets and much more.

Furthermore, the gastronomic curatorship goes beyond food. Also in our arraiá, Copa Lisboa team will be on board to take the main Brazilian alcoholic product to another level.

It’s a special cachaça bar, where delicious shots and drinks will be served. From the distilleries in Brazil straight to our Arraiá! Ready?

Special Session Arraiá da Bossa:
authentic music

Hurrah for maracatu! Hurrah for folk culture!

Within the purpose of empowering and growing alongside the Brazilian community in Berlin, artistic curatorial work is always a key element. It’s fundamental to keep a careful and respectful look at the wonderful projects that bring the needed glow and sway for us to stay energized here.

This time, the highlight is the traditional rhythms of the Brazilian Northeast, through live bands, which, along with the amazing DJs, make up the more than 70 artists who will perform in our arraiá.

Firstly, of course, forró – which is a absolute must at any festa junina. It’s the rhythm that reminds us that dancing tight together is just so damn good! And it also has its more pronounced variation, typical of June square dances (the quadrilhas juninas).

This Saturday, Forrobodó do Zé and Fuxico will play that lovely forró for us. Tragatu and Marafoxé Nação Nagô will play the maracatu power. An Afro-Brazilian tradition characteristic of the state of Pernambuco, maracatu is one of the most important popular rhythms of the Northeast, marked by the strong percussive sound.

In addition, the matutos of this arraiá will dance lots of coco with Coco Darminina and Coqueiros de Olinda. Coco is historic dance influenced by African drumming and indigenous dances, which originated in the sugar plantations times. São João is pure tradition!
